Indy's Super Bowl secret? A roof.
Avatar submitted by rss feed 1360 days ago

The 2012 Super Bowl will be played in Indianapolis. That's not a shock. Indianpolis barely lost to Dallas as the site of the 2011 Super Bowl, the final vote 17-15.

Well, Indianapolis isn't exactly a garden spot in February when the game is played. So one day it could come to Seattle, right? Well, only if the Seahawks buy a bunch of big, blue tarps or figure some other way to turn Qwest Field into a dome.

The league's policy is that if the average temperature of the area is below 50 degrees, the site needs to be a dome. Three Super Bowls have been played in Northern cities: 1982 in Pontiac, Mich., 1992 in Minneapolis and 2006 when a certain local team played the Steelers in Detroit. Seattle applied to host the 1992 game that was later awarded to Minneapolis.
